Strange programs in my pc
I have downloaded and installed some strange programs into my computer because i used them to do a simple project or just test them out.
For future referance heres some notes on them.
Audio Editing Software:
Audacity - Recording/audio editing program. I think its freeware, can cut songs, has a few effects and filters.
Quite easy to pick up and use. So if you want a cool ringtone for your mobile, or cut a part out of a song this will get the job done.
Wavepad - another audio editing software, not free however. You can use the 14day trial to do your editing, cutting, but after that, go buy it.
Easy to use tho, and quite nice interface. Also, i think my mobile ringtone was made with this.
IRC Clients:
Kvirc - Free to use IRC client
mIRC - another IRC client, paste: A single-user license costs US$20.00. So, screw it :) You can still use it for free, but every time you haveto wait a bit till it says
you haveto register it.
Xchat2 - IRC client, free and lightweight, easy to use and set up.
Recording tools:
CamStudio 2,6b - allows you to record what you do on your PC, easy to use, however it is rather slow and laggy. I would not recommend that for making videos or tutorials.
LOLReplay - League of Legends Recording tool, or well, sort of. Records the game you play, has no fps drops, allows playback, you can view the whole map like a spectator and so on,
Gets really messed up when you fastforward tho. If you dont have a good pc to record or want to view the whole game in great detail this is your program.
Other Stuff:
Deskspace - Now here is an interesting little program. IF you happent to have your home PC as your Work PC and haveto deal with a lot of files, shortcuts and so on
then this allows you to have multiple desktops what you can easyly switch. Think of your Desktop as a cube what has 6 sides. It might be of use to some, but i found
some bugs with it. When you switch screens your GPU fan goes off like the GPU would be under a lot of stress. When i looked into the matter, there were similar but better programs out there, and when i happent to look into the matter again, il be sure to add them here.
LogMeInHamachi - Lan network client, allows for co-op lan play in some games with your friends. It is reccommended you get an older version of the program,
new ones have *issues*. if i recall correctly 1.0.2.3 worked fine. Just google Hamachi Oldapps
Virtual Drives:
Magic Disc - Virtual Drive, easy to use
Magic Iso - Iso image files unpacker, viewer and so on.
Daemon Tools - last i checked there were a lot of different versions of this, Pro, Lite, standard and so on.
Works like most Virtual Drive software, but if i recall correctly, this had an option, that it could be run outside of Windows Enviorment, the drives would actually show up in BIOS.
Alcohol - Also a disc emulation software. not free however. Havent really used it.
