Youtube Tips and Tricks

You can do a ton of more things with videos on youtube, than just link them.

1. Link to a specific part of the video. Add #t=2m04s to the end of the link, and adjust the minutes and seconds accordingly. Right now its 2 minutes and 4 seconds into the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQZZJLok2q8#t=2m04s

Heres a table of what you can add to the end of the clip :)
Extention What it Does
&hd=1 Opens video in HD by default (720p)
&loop=1 Loops/repeats the video
&rel=0 Disables the related videos in the end
&autoplay=1 Video won't start, you haveto hit the play button

Some other stuff, that i found useful at some point. You can download Youtube Videos in your Web Browser at:
http://fetchvideo.com
http://keephd.com
http://ytpodcaster.com/

If you only want the mp3 http://www.listentoyoutube.com/

Also, in the comment section.

If you type in a time, like 1:20 then it will become as a referance point, and if people click on it, the video will play from that point. (1 Minute, 20 seconds in this example)

If you are looking for more, i found a useful site, after making my own short list, from here:

Laptop DVD Drive

Well my hard drive on the laptop failed recently, if anyone has an N5110 and you haveto change it, then i feel sorry for you, especially if you haven't done it before. So i installed a new SSD *Agility 4 into it, and because SSD drives are still rather expensive, about 1GB per 1Euro, i found an alternate solution.

You dont really need a large SSD, why? well the only things you are gona put on it, are: Operating system, Programs, a Few Games. Thats it, no reason to keep movies or other stuff there, what just takes up space.

Still 60/120 or even 240 GB is still rather small, well 240GB should server you, if you are an average computer user and dont keep any Video Footage or TV shows, Movies on it, but most people do so heres what you will propably find interesting.

Most Laptops still have a CD/DVD drive, do you ever use it?
propably not. So you can replace that with another Hard Drive. Now there are plenty of different versions on it, it makes little difference because its basicly an extencion and you cant propably fuck that up in the manufacturing process.

I got the Akasa SATA ODD Adapter for 2,5 and it was around 16 euros. There are other versions out there what cost around 30-40 aswell. you might get some extra feature so its easyer to remove but other than that, they are all about the same.

Anyway what you should ask for is an Optical Bay Hard Drive Adapter
Here are a few examples on amazon.com
Caddy
Another
OneMore

Now as long as it is meant for 2,5 inch hard drive, it will proapably fit.
Oh heres a picture of what it looks like, if you are lazy and dont want to go click any links :)

Oh by the way, if you are tech savy and like to modify it a bit more, you can fit some USB thumb drives or something else into there, the sides are empty.

Interlacing

If you are unfamiliar with it, go watch the video

Anyway, the main question on your mind is, how do i get rid of it? or fix it?. Now i had some interlaced footage and after using some effects, it started to really show, especially if you are using a filmstrip effect.

Mehtod 1: Remove half of the data, what this does, is cut you video material in half and blur it out, not a bad solution if you are reducing the video size and using picture in picture effect, it will still look decent enough. ( from 100x100 to 50x50 looks optimal, if you go over 50 with this method, it will really show)

Method 2: Use Sorenson Squeeze and deinterlace the footage, bear in mind, it takes a lot of time, and you can only do one clip at a time, or well, if i added multiple clips, it just crashed.
You can use the trial version, because the software is rather expensive, you will get a blinking watermark in the center of the screen however. Just a hint, if you are planning to buy the software, it has a discount after a few days of using the trial version of about 50%.

Now there are other ways, but i didnt find them much use and wont mention them here, the video shows some.

Note to self, in the future, try not to shoot interlaced footage, its a pain to work with and nobody uses a TV that runs on 24 FPS anymore.

Rainmaker and other stuff

So yeah, windows 8 comes, and a lot of more shiny shit follows, now there is nothing wrong with wanting things to look nice, but DAMN!, if you can slow down the animations and operations just because they look pretty, thats where i draw the line, and find an alternative.

Anyway, Rainmaker.
you can get it from here: http://rainmeter.net/cms/
And what it does, well, writing a long text about it seems like a hassle, so i just added a few pictures of how you computer desktop might look like:

Its real easy to set up, and use, besides, makes things a bit more easyer to access.

Curse Client v5 Errors, Problems, Installation and so on.

So recently Curse Client (used by some games like World of Warcraft, Minecraft, Skyrim and a few more released version 5, a lot of problems have followed since.)
Now the problem i had was with the installation, program downloaded but has an error, application could not be started or something like that. So i went over to the support site (http://clientsupport.curse.com/) where they had some fixes.
Now heres the Curse Support fix http://clientsupport.curse.com/guide.aspx?id=30

1. Go to C:/users/YOUR USER/AppData/Local/Apps
And delete the 2.0 Folder, After that try to install Curse Client again, didnt work for me, perhaps it works for somebody else.

2. Install, update .Net 3.5 Client Profile/ SP1, now these should all-ready be installed you can manually re-install them but that probably isn't the case when other applications that use it are working fine. I did this but again, no luck

3. Now this is a bit retarded fix, they have a Corrupt.Net Framework program, you can get it from http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
It uninstalls all your .Net Framework and automatically restarts your PC, this didn't do anything, after i re-installed 3.5 still the Curse Client Installer failed.

Now for what worked for me.

4. Install .Net Framework 4.5, you can get it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/net
This has all the previous versions and should be stable with no problems. After that

5. Go and download CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Its free and helps you get rid of some other unwanted temp files aswell.

5.1 Run Cleaner (on Cleaner tab on your left side), this scans and deletes unused files, also wipes your browser history (uncheck if you want to keep it!), cookies, temp files etc.
After thats done
5.2 Go over to Registry Tab, and press Scan for Issues, it will find a lot of unused DLL files and so on. After Scan is complete press Fix Selected Issues, now you can back up your registry and save it as a file in case something important gets removed from registry, or you can press no and have it permanently delete all the missing files from registry.
Now you are all done, try to install Curse Client v5, it worked for me, perhaps it will for you aswell :)

Chrome Crashes, Freezes, Lags FIX.

Now i have had this problem for a while, on certain web pages, chrome just freezes the whole computer for about 3-5sec, sometimes YouTube makes it crash, and from time to time flash applications cause it to crash. Now after some research, it turns out, that the problem is within the Google Chrome using 2 different versions of flash at the same time, one is Adobe Flash, and the other is Google Chromes own flash, what gets updated constantly, and using 2 different versions of flash, causes it to crash, lag, freeze.

The fix:
you can read about it in here: http://www.lockergnome.com/media/2012/01/20/how-to-fix-shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/

Or i put down some easy steps how to fix it.
1. Open Google Chrome, on the adress bar type in about:plugins
2. On the upper right corner, you will see a box [+] Details, Click on the [+] to get the detailed list.
3. Locate Flash and click  disable the one, with the location marked C:\Users\T\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\18.0.1025.162\gcswf32.dll
4. After its disabled, restart you browser and the problem should be fixed.

E7 Video formats

Because i keep forgetting what my phone actually supports, i thought id write it down somewhere, so i dont haveto google it and read some silly article about it every single time.
Scratch that... After some testing, it turned out, that one of the listed supported video formats didnt play at all, so il make my own experiment what actually works on Nokia E7.

+ it works fine, - it wont work at all
/ - has audio, and is missing video, or has some other bug.
IF table is empty, it wont work
VIDEO
Dummybox AVI MPEG-PS MPEG-TS MP4 MKV FLV
MPEG4 Xvid  +  + + + + +
H.263  -

Future Reference row 2, cell 2 row 2, cell 3 row 2, cell 4 row 2, cell 5 row 2, cell 6 row 2, cell 7

AUDIO
AC3, MP3 works,
AAC wont work with AVI format, havent tested others.

Note to self, dont use M-Jpeg, takes up a lot of space.
